Well, this past week was similar to the previous ones, but in some ways I still feel like a total “new-by.” And actually Saturday, I went up to a nearby suburb to try on a pair of Birkenstocks (didn’t buy them, but just needed to know if they were truly needed… which hasn’t been decided yet, so we’ll see…). From there though I was right by King’s Park and I have heard good things about it, so I decided just to take a little stroll over there.
It was gorgeous… eventually. At first though I was walking through a pretty dense forest and wondering why people spoke so highly about this park when all I could see were trees and bushes around me. Then I come to this clear part of grass with trees on both sides. I saw a tower and so I walked toward it.
I just wanted to see what was on top, and as I started climbing it, I began to remember I have a fear of heights. But my thought process at that moment was: well, I started this, why not just make it to the top? I knew that if I retreated I would forever regret it and keep wondering what’s at the top of that lookout. So I strove on.
I got up to the top, and I’m so glad I kept climbing. Here are my pictures, with the titles:
And just a small thing I learned at church…
A girl had a sticker on her phone cover that said “yeah, nah.” She told me her friend had the other cover, saying “nah, yeah.” She said that when you say “yeah, nah” you basically mean “well, no.” And it’s the opposite with “nah, yeah” (well, yes). The first term used is similar to an “um” or “well” and then the “yeah” or “nah” is the determining factor—yes or no. Therefore, you have to be careful the order in which you say what your answer is. I think I’ll just stick with my “ums,” but I’ll have to try to strengthen my comprehension.

And just FYI, I’m going to start trying to post the emails I send you each week (approximately) on my website as well. So if you look at mywalkwithhim.com, you will see both my “essays” (my writings on elements of my walk with God) and my semi-weekly updates (which are sometimes in an “outline” form). Therefore, you will see both kind of academic elements of my life on my website.
